Terminology the Society Hates?
by toweragent inin my most recent talk, i got counseled for using some terms that were not prefered.
for example i said "new testament" rather than "the christian greek scriptures".
i also used the term "gospel", but even worse, i made reference to the "synoptic gospels" and the "gnostic gospel".. i guess i never thought of it before, but when i looked at the societies information on the matter they always say things like, "the so-called new testament..." or "the so-called synoptic gospels..." why with all the "so-called?".

Fundamentalists.
From their site:
Are you fundamentalists?
While we have strong religious convictions, we are not fundamentalists in the sense that the term has come to be used. We do not believe that every passage in the Bible is to be interpreted literally. We do not pressure political leaders to promote a certain point of view, nor do we resort to demonstrations and violence against those who disagree with us. The Bible teaches Christians to be kind, good, mild, and reasonable—qualities that do not allow for the kind of fanaticism that is sometimes associated with fundamentalism.—James 3:17.
So a straw man argument: they redefine and/or narrow the definition of fundamentalists to Fred Phelps and then say "we're not that."

United Nations Gender Ministry Conducts "Jehovah's Witness" Campaign to Combat Ebola

I don't know whether this is true or not, but I've checked on unwomen.org and haven't found any information about a "Jehovah's witness" campaign with respect to the ebola crisis.
The other links I find that reference the JWs seem to be reproducing the same information. . . and don't seem particularly reliable. Remember, even though they claim to be "news" it's still Garbage-In-Garbage-Out.
I guess I would be more condfident in the veracity of this report if it was reported on the unwomen.org website itself.

Apple Cider Vinegar
by poppers ini've been drinking 1 tbs with a glass of water twice daily for digestion for about 3 weeks now.
i've found it helps, but it also acts as an appetite suppressant; i've lost several pounds since using it.
i'm consuming fewer calories because i'm just not as hungry as before.

That's only half the news. The other half is you have to bring it from home. Recipes and instructions can be downloaded from JW.bOrg
Actually, rumor has it that tv.jw.org will be broadcasting a new cooking show entitled "Cooking for a New World."
The recipes for convention hoagies, burritos and Muff-n-Eggs will be featured in the first episode. It is not known which GB member will host the show.
Soon thereafter, a spinoff cooking show "Grillin' and Witnessin'" will be released, starring Tony Morris (III). The premiere episode "Burnt Hot Dogs" is not to be missed.
From what I understand, Tony is anti-propane and pro Royal Oak Hardwood Charcoal, a.k.a "Kingdom Coal."

And we get to know who Gog isnt?
Yeah, right. A lot of information there.
Gog also isn't: Santa Claus, Ghandi, a pair of handcuffs, Park Avenue, Tahiti, copper tubing, linoleum, Han Solo, spaghetti, or a 1970 Volvo P1800 Coupe.
Actually, it is possible that Gog is spaghetti, now that I think about it.

JW TV - One Further Step Towards Making the Organization Soft & Cuddly
by steve2 inone of the more astonishing developments within the organization in recent years is the muting of the more "out there" behaviors of this once fiercely confrontational and proud end-times religious group.. members were unapologetically no part of the world and couldn't give a rat's ar*e what you thought of them.
whereas the organisation fostered an outlook of warning the "wicked" world of the imminence of its destruction at the hands of the almighty - and spared no effort in doing so - nowadays the organization is sucking in its more "loose cannon" elements.
in the place of these elements is a sparkling, smiling, airbrushed group of worshippers who parade their wholesome settled lifestyle to win converts.
